Home Minister Asaduzzaman Khan Kamal claimed that no crossfire has occurred in the country, rather it is a shootout.
He was speaking with journalists at his secretariat office Tuesday about the crossfire in which dozens of alleged drug peddlers were killed by the law enforcing agencies in the last couple of days.
The minister said the law enforcing agencies resorted to shoot out to save their lives.
“The police have a zero-tolerance policy against drugs and we will not give any concession to drug dealers,” he said.
The minister said the police did not arrest any small fry, rather the arrestees are the top drug dealers.
