The 49 newly-elected members of parliament (MP) for women’s reserved seats in the 11th parliament will be sworn-in on Wednesday (Feb 20), a Parliament Secretariat press release stated on Tuesday (Feb 18).
The oath-taking ceremony is scheduled to be held around 10:30am in the Oath Room of the National Parliament, it added.
On Feb 17, The Election Commission published an official gazette with the names of the 49 elected women MPs.
Of the 49 MPs, 43 are from the ruling Awami League party, four are from Jatiya Party, one is from the Workers Party, and another is an independent candidate.
On Feb 16, the 49 aspirants were elected unopposed.
