BNP’s popularity has crashed to the lowest level due to its negative politics and it was proved during the 11th Parliamentary Election, said Information Minister Dr Hasan Mahmud.
“I urge the BNP to engage in positive politics. Their popularity has taken a dive for their negative and bad politics,” he said while addressing a memorial meeting at the Shaheed Minar premises on Saturday (Feb 2).
The North city unit Awami League organised the programme in memory of its late president Nurul Alam Chowdhury, reports state news agency BSS.
Criticizing the BNP’s decision not to join the Prime Minister’s tea party, Hasan said, “it’s normal that BNP won’t go to the PM’s party as they didn’t open the door of the party office to Sheikh Hasina when she went to express sympathy over the death of BNP chief’s younger son Arafat Rahman Koko.”
The Prime Minister had waited there for 10 minutes, he added.
He, however, urged the BNP to come forward to take the country forward.
