Met office has issued warning for river ports of 16 districts in the country wherein riverports are ordered to hoist riverine warning signal number two ending at 6pm on Wednesday (May 16).
The inland river port warning has been issued for Rajshahi, Pabna, Bogura, Dhaka, Tangail, Mymensingh, Faridpur, Jashore, Kushtia, Khulna, Barishal, Patuakhali, Noakhali, Cumilla, Chattogram and Sylhet, said a Bangladesh Metrological Department bulletin.
Riverports elsewhere in the country were asked to hoist cautionary signal no. one as rain or thunder showers with north-westerlygusty or squally wind speed 45-60 kph is likely to occur during this period.
Met office also predicts intermittent rain fall with thundershowers accompanied by temporary gusty or squally wind and lightning flashes in Dhaka for the next three days.
Sporadic hails and moderately heavy to heavy falls may occur in different parts of the country, BMB specialist Abul Kalam Mollik told Bangla Tribune.
