Prime Minister Sheikh Hasina has arrived at Suhrawardy Udyan to address the Awami League’s rally celebrating its landslide victory in the 11th Parliamentary Election.

The Awami League president arrived at the venue around 3pm on Saturday (Jan 19).

Moderated by Information Minister Hasan Mahmud and Publication Secretary Aminul Islam Amin, members of the Awami League’s policymaking committee and the new cabinet and other senior party and government leaders have participated in the event.

Anticipating massive turnout, the law enforcers have taken tight security measures with security personnel from cross agencies including police, Rapid Action Battalions and Detective Branch are stationed at Shahbagh, Doel Chattar, Motsho Bhaban, TSC area and at all entry points to the venue.

The Awami League formed its third consecutive government after winning 258 seats in the Dec 30 general election. Sheikh Hasina became prime minister for a fourth term.
