Road crashes kill four in two districts

Four people have been killed in road crashes in two districts on Friday (Nov 23). One was reported from the southern district of Khulna and other from the northern district of Lalmonirhat.
Khulna
A head-on collision between a truck and a motorcycle has left a couple dead in district’s Dumuria Upazila, police said.
The incident took place around 8.45am at the upazila’s Purbo Jhiler Danga area.
The deceased are Nazrul Molla and his wife Ayeasha Siddiqui.
“The couple, riding on a motorcycle, coming from the district’s Paikgacha Upazila was hit by the truck leaving Ayeasha Siddiqui dead on the spot,” said Dumuria police OC Md Habil Hossain.
“Nazrul Molla died on the way to hospital,” Hossain added.
Lalmonirhat
Two people have been killed in a road accident in the district, according to the police.
The accident was reported from Fakirer Takeya area of the district’s Sadar Upazila.
The deceased are 10-year-old Mostafizur Rahman and 45-year-old Abul Kashem,
“Mostafizur and Abul Kashem were hit by a night coach on the Rangpur-Kurigram Highway around 5am leaving them dead on spot,” said Lamonirhat Sadar police OC Mahfuz Alam.
“The impact led the bus to fall into a nearby ditch as well,” added Alam.
