PM Hasina leaves for Sydney on Thursday

Prime Minister Sheikh Hasina will be conferred the Global Women’s Leadership Award 2018 during the Global Summit of Women in Sydney. FILE PHOTOPrime Minister Sheikh Hasina is scheduled to leave for Sydney on Thursday for an official visit.
The Thai Airways flight carrying her and the entourage is expected to take off from Dhaka airport in the afternoon and reach the Australian city Friday morning, reports BSS.
During the three-day visit, Hasina will join the Global Summit of Women, where she will be conferred the Global Women’s Leadership Award 2018.
US-based Global Summit of Women is giving the award for Hasina's leadership in women's education and entrepreneurship in Bangladesh.
Global Women Summit is an annual international gathering of women leaders from around the world on business/economic issues, and Chair of Corporate Women Directors International (CWDI), promoting the increased participation of women on corporate boards globally.
In the summit, Hasina will highlight her administrations measures for women's empowerment and mainstreaming them in the national development, BSS reported quoting sources at the prime minister's office said.
On Saturday, Hasina will hold official talks with Australian counterpart Malcom Turnbull.
Australian Foreign Minister Julie Bishop will call on Hasina at the Intercontinental Sydney Hotel, where she will be staying during the visit.
The prime minister is also expected to visit Western Sydney University and join a community event at Sofitel Hotel the same day.
Hasina is scheduled to fly for Dhaka on Sunday and expected to reach the next day.
