Prime Minister Sheikh Hasina will receive the Global Women’s Leadership Award during her official visit to Australia next week.
She will be honoured for her outstanding leadership in advancing women education and women entrepreneurs in Bangladesh, Asia and Asia-pacific region, Foreign Minister AH Mahmood Ali told the media on Tuesday.
Hasina’s will visit Australia from Apr 26 to 28 at her counterpart Maclolm Turnbull’s invitation.

The prime minister will attend the 2018 Global Summit of Women.

US-based Global Summit of Women is honouring Hasina for her leadership in women’s education and entrepreneurship in Bangladesh, said Foreign Minister Ali.

She will receive the award on Apr 27 at a ceremony where she will highlight the government's initiatives for women’s empowerment and mainstreaming them in the national development.

On Apr 28, Hasina will hold official talks with Turnbull, said the minister adding that it would focus on education, sports, human resources development, trade and investment, energy, power, agriculture and ICT.
The last time Hasina went to Australia was in 2011, to attend the Commonwealth Summit.
