Dr Kamal Hossain-led Jatiya Oikya Front has sat with the Election Commission (EC) two days ahead of the announcement of the polls schedule
The development came two days after the newly floated alliance wrote to the EC on Saturday (Nov 3) calling for delaying the polls schedule’s announcement.

The meeting started at 3:45pm at the EC office in the city’s Sher-E-Bangla Nagar on Monday (Nov 5).

The new alliance is represented by Jatiya Samajtantrik Dal-JSD chief ASM Abdur Rab, pro-BNP professional Dr Zafrullah Chowdhury, Nagarik Oikya Convenor Mahmudur Rahman Manna and BNP leaders Gayeshwar Chandra Roy, Barkatullah Bulu and Noyeem Jahangir.

Chief Election Commissioner KM Nurul Huda is leading the talks with the three other commissioners and its Secretary Helaluddin Ahmed.
