A Narayanganj schoolgirl had written to Prime Minister Sheikh Hasina that she reminded her of her late grandmother.

In the letter, dated Mar 25, Syeda Rounak Jahan Sejuti had said she misses her recently-deceased grandparent and every time Hasina appears on the television, it reminds of her.

She mentioned in the letter that how the PM resembled her grandmother, “especially the nose” and did not forget to invite Hasina at her home in Sonargaon Upazila.

The second-grader was over the moon, when she received the prime minister’s reply along with a photograph of her.

Asif Kabir, an assistant press secretary to the PM, confirmed Bangla Tribune on Sunday that the premier had took some time off from her busy schedule to write back.

Replying with love and affection, the PM wrote that she had read the letter several times and that she prayed for her grandmother’s departed soul.

Advising Sejuti to focus on her studies, Hasina told the second-grader to serve the country, when she grows up.

The letter accompanied a photograph of Prime Minister Sheikh Hasina.
