Three newly appointed justices at the supreme-court’s appellate division have taken oath in a ceremony held at the judges’ lounge of the apex court.
The new justices for the Appellate division are justices Zinat Ara, Abu Bakar Siddiquee and Md Nuruzzaman.
Chief-justice Syed Mahmud Hossain administered the oath on Tuesday (Oct 9) morning with rest of the justices present during the occasion.
On Monday (Oct 8), law ministry issued a circular regarding their appointment after President Abdul Hamid promoted them as appellate division judges from the high-court division.
Appointment of the three justices has taken the total number of appellate division judges to seven along with the chief justice and justices, Muhammad Imman Ali, Hasan Foez Siddique and Mirza Hussain Haider.
