Awami League General Secretary Obaidul Quader has said that the details regarding the polls-time government are entirely under the Prime Minister’s discretion.
“None except Prime Minister Sheikh Hasina knows. I am the party’s General Secretary; even I don’t know.”
The cabinet minister said this at a meeting with the Rajhashi city leaders at the central party office in the capital.
“When it will be formed, how big it will be, what will be the size of the cabinet, I have no clue, only the PM knows,” he added.
The senior Awami League leader’s remark came regarding the Finance Minister AMA Muhith’s comment that polls-time government will be formed in 20 days.
Quader said, “The probable date for the election is Dec 27. It’s not our duty to announce the date even if we know it for sure.”
“The election commission will announce the date for the polls. It’s not the duty of the government or any ministers,” he said.
