The government has locked down three upazilas in Bandarban until further notice amid the fast spreading coronavirus which has killed four people till now in Bangladesh.

Only emergency services will be available in Lama, Alikadam, Naikhyongchari, Additional Deputy Commissioner Md Shamim said confirming the lockdown on Tuesday (Mar 24).

No one will be able to enter or leave these upazilas.

"Bandarban district administration has announced lockdowns in these three areas because they are really crowded," he said. 

Currently 41 people in Bandarban district are in home quarantine while nine are in quarantine in hospital.
