Five killed as BGB-villagers clash in Khagrachhari

At least five people, including a Bangladesh Border Guard (BGB) member, have been killed and several others injured when a clash erupted between BGB and villagers over cutting trees in Khagrachhari.

The incident took place in Gazinagar village of Matiranga Upazila around 11.30am on Tuesday (Mar 3).

Meanwhile, another person died from cardiac arrest during the clash.

Khagrachhari Deputy Commissioner (DC) Pratap Chandra Biswas confirmed the matter to Bangla Tribune.

He also said a three-member probe committee had been formed to investigate the incident.
