A Secondary School Certificate (SSC) examinee was killed and at least 10 other people injured during a clash in Gopalganj.
Sixteen-year-old Rony Howlader was killed after being shot by a former Union Parishad member on Thursday (Jan 30).
Gopalganj Sadar Police OC Md Monirul Islam said, the clash stemmed from a long standing feud between Azizur Sheikh, a former Union Parishad member, and the family of Bhulu Molla.
He said that during the clash Ajijul Sheikh opened fire, and Rony, a bystander, was killed on spot.
Gopalganj Additional Police Superintendant (sadar circle) Mohammad Sanwar Hossain said that they have deployed police in the area and were trying to arrest those involved.
He added that the body has been sent to Gopalganj Sadar Hospital morgue for autopsy.
