Three people have been killed and another 10 injured after a bus ploughed into auto-rickshaws on Barishal-Kuakata Highway.
The incident was reported around 11.30am on Saturday (Jan 25) from AK School intersection area in the southern dictrict’s Amtali Upazila, said police.
The deceased have been identified as Lamiya, Nupur and her son Hasib, said Amtali police OC Abul Bashar.
“A Kuakata bound Mayer Doya paribahan bus collided with two auto-rickshaws parked near AK School intersection area, leaving three pedestrians dead on the spot. Another 10 people were injured in the incident,” said OC Bashar.
“The injured have been admitted to Amtali Upazila Health Complex,” he said.
The OC added that the bus involved in the incident has been confiscated while its driver managed to flee.
