Road Transport and Bridges Minister Obaidul Quader speaking to the media in Cox's Bazar on Wednesday (Jan 22).The Election Commission should take any attacks on candidates seriously, says senior Cabinet member Obaidul Quader.
His remarks came while addressing the media in Cox’s Bazar on Wednesday (Jan 22), a day after BNP’s Dhaka North candidate Tabith Awal was injured in an attack on his campaign.
“For the sake of a fair election, the law enforcing agencies that can take steps are under the Election Commission now,” he said.
He added that the Commission can initiate measures to ensure that the incidents aren’t repeated.
Quader slammed the BNP saying that they have turned into a “complaining party,” and don’t have success in movements or polls.
“After failing in the election and waging movements, they have no political capital other than complaining,” he said.
