Three of a family killed in Jashore car accident

Three members of a family have been killed and four others injured in a private car accident in Jashore district town.
The incident took place around 1am on Saturday (Jan 18) in the city’s Shaheed Moshiur Rahman Road.
The deceased have been identified as sisters Tanjila Yeasmin, 28, Tonima Yeasmin Piyasha, 25, and their sister-in-law Afroza Tabassum Tithi, 26.
The injured are Piyasha’s husband Shafiqul Islam Jyoti, 28, Tithi’s daughter Manijur, 3, Shahin Hossain, 23 and Hridoy, 28.
Piyasha’s uncle Shahinur Rahman said, the car hit a road side electric pole at Shaheed Moshiur Rahman Road area, leaving the trio dead on the spot. The other persons in the car were also injured in the incident.
Kotwali police Inspector Tasmim Alam said, being informed police rushed to the spot and took the victims to the Jashore General Hospital.
“Three among the victims died before they were brought to the hospital,” said Mofazzal Hossain, senior nurse at the hospital citing Dr Kajal Mollick.
