As many as 19 shops have been gutted by a fire in Khagrachari’s Guimara Upazila’s Jaliapara market.
The blaze reportedly originated from a gas-stove on Friday (Jan 10) night in a poultry shop, according to local traders.
Two firefighting units from Matiranga and Ramgar fire services along with army, Border Guard Bangladesh and locals brought the fire under control after two hours.
Locals claim that the estimated damage caused by the fire is likely to exceed Tk 10 million.
