BSF shoots dead two Bangladeshis

Bangladesh-India Border. File PhotoTwo Bangladeshi cattle traders have been shot dead by Indian Border Security Forces (BSF) in Chapainawabganj’s Shibganj Upazila.
Two people including an Indian citizen were also injured in the incident reported from the Durlav union’s Wahedpur border on Thursday (Jan 9), union Chairman Abdur Rajib Raju told Bangla Tribune.
The deceased have been identified as 28-year-old Selim and 22-year old Sumon.
The injured, Sakir and Murshidabad’s Lalbar Ali are undergoing treatment at Rajshahi Medical College Hospital
Lalbar, who is undergoing treatment at said, “Eleven of us crossed the border at 7 pm on Wednesday (Jan 9) to bring cattle.”
He added that after crossing the border, BSF members hiding in the forest fired them.
According to the locals Selim and Sumon died on spot and their companions brought the bodies back.
Border Guard Bangladesh-53 chief Mahbubur Rahman Khan said they have already written to BSF protesting the killings.
