Woman dies of “wrong treatment” in Dinajpur

A woman has died from alleged wrong treatment at a hospital during birth in Dinajpur’s Kalitola area.
The deceased, identified as Beauty Ara, 35, died after giving birth to baby boy on at HK Mother Care Hospital on Saturday (Dec 14) morning.
Her relatives vandalized hospital property after the incident. Later, police arrived at the scene and brought the situation under control.
The accused, Dr Hazrat Ali has several past records of administering wrong treatment and violating medical laws.
On Oct 22, 25-year-old Muntaheena Parveen died from wrong treatment administered by the same physician. He has also served nine years in prison over illegal abortion.
According to the deceased’s sisters Fatema Begum and Bilkis Begum, Beauty spoke to them normally after delivery.
She has died after an injection was pushed into her by the hospital staff.
Beauty’s sisters alleged that the hospital authorities have hidden medical reports and denied information on the injection pushed.
Dinajpur district Civil Surgeon Abdul Kuddus said, “The license of HK Mother Care Hospital has expired.”
A mobile court raid will be carried out at the hospital, he added.
