After being shut down for a month, Jahangirnagar University (JU) is set to resume academic activities on Sunday (Dec 8).
The decision was taken at an emergency Syndicate meeting on Wednesday (Dec 4) with Vice-Chancellor Farzana Islam in the chair, said acting Registrar Rahima Kaneez.
All the dormitories will reopen from Thursday (Dec 5), she added.
Jahangirnagar University authorities shut down the institution indefinitely, following an alleged attack by Bangladesh Chhatra League men on protesting teachers and students, leaving more than 20 injured. The students were demonstrating on the campus since August 22 demanding the resignation of the university’s VC Prof Farzana Islam.
