Oil supply came to a halt on Sunday (Dec 1) morning as petrol pump owners went on an indefinite strike in three divisions -- Rajshahi, Rangpur, and Khulna -- to press home their 15-point demand.

Sale and transportation of fuel from around 2,000 petrol pumps in the three divisions will remain shut indefinitely, said Bangladesh Petrol Pump Owners' Association's Senior Vice President MA Momin Dulal.

"The strike will continue until our demands are met," he added.

On Nov 26, the association's leaders gave an ultimatum of Nov 30 by which to fulfil their 15-point demand.
