Authorities in the southeastern coastal district are evacuating fifteen families after a landslide on Saturday.
At least five homes and two shops on the foot of a hill in the town’s Muhripara early on Saturday due to landslide amid heavy downpour.
The Upazila administration said they have opened evacuation efforts soon after the incident.
“Police and fire fighters are working to evacuate the affected families as well as others in risk. Ambulances have been kept standby at the scene,” UNO Habibul Hasan said.
On Wednesday, five deaths were reported in two separate landslides in Cox’s Bazar.
