A head-on collision between a bus and truck has left three people dead and 12 others injured in Faridpur.
The incident was reported around 8.20am on Tuesday (Nov 26) from Purba Sadardi area in the district’s Bhanga Upazila, said police.
Identities of the victims could not be known immediately.
Bhanga highway police OC Md Ataur Rahman said that the Dhaka bound Chandra Paribahan bus collided with a truck, leaving two people, including the bus driver, dead on the spot.
Another died on way to Bhanga Upazila Health Complex, he said.
Among the injured, two were discharged after being provided with primary treatment at Bhanga Upazila Health Complex, while six others were admitted there.
Four others have been sent to Faridpur Medical College and Hospital.
Quoting a betel trader, who was travelling in the truck, the OC said the truck driver fell asleep during the accident.
"However, the driver fled the scene soon after the incident," added the OC.
