An Indian weather balloon fell down on bordering Damurhuda upazila at western district Chuadanga, triggering panic among locals.
The incident took place in upazila’s Hauli village on Sunday (Nov 24).
Damurhuda police OC Sukumar Biswas has confirmed the matter before adding, “The tool was being tested for weather reading.”
The three-headed box with battery had Indian flag on it, with several safety instructions in Bangla on its body, locals said.
Police have also informed designated authorities about the crushed balloon and steps will be taken according to the procedure.
