Fifteen Hizb ut-Tahrir men held in Chattogram

Police have detained 15 suspected operatives of banned militant outfit Hizb ut-Tahrir in Chattogram.
Chattogram Metropolitan Police (CMP) conducted overnight drives in five areas of the port city and apprehended the outfit's Chattogram region chief along with 14 others, CMP’s Deputy Commissioner Mehedi Hasan told Bangla Tribune.
The arrestees have been identified as the outfit's Chattogram region chief Abul Mohammad Ershadul Alam, 39, Walid Ibn Nazim, 18, Imtiaz Ismail, 25, Abdullah Al Mahfuz, 30, Nasiruddin Chowdhury, 29, Nazmul Huda, 27, Lokman Goni, 29, Mohammad Karim, 27, Abdullah Al Munim, 22, Kamrul Hasan Rana, 20, Ariful Islam, 20, Azimuddin, 31, Md Azimul Huda, 24, Afzal Hossain Atiq, 35, Md Samrat, 22.
Police also seized laptop, mobile phones, Jihadist books and leaflets during the drive, added Deputy Commissioner Mehedi Hasan.
