A newborn, stolen from Bogura’s Shaheed Ziaur Rahman Medical College Hospital (SZRMCH) has been recovered.
Acting on a tip-off, police raided a house at district’s Shajahanpur Upazila and recovered the baby on Thursday (Nov 14) night, said SZRMCH police outpost Sub-Inspector Abdul Jalil Mandal.
A woman identified as Reshma Khatun, 35, was arrested over the alleged kidnapping, he added.
According to the police and victim’s relatives, Reshma kidnapped the newborn of Sourav Sakidar and Nahida Begum from the hospital on Wednesday (Nov 13) afternoon. The accused confessed to her crime.
Earlier, the family filed a case with local police station under human trafficking law.
