Police have arrested three in connection with the murder of a North South University student, Saidur Rahman Payel.
They are Hanif Transport bus driver Jalal, supervisor Faisal and assistant Jony.
Gazaria police station officer-in-charge Harun ur Rashid confirmed it to Bangla Tribune.
Payel, a fifth semester student, and his friends were travelling to Dhaka by a Hanif Transport bus which stuck in a jam in Narayanganj at 2am on Saturday.
He got off the bus to use toilet, but did not return. Two days later, his dead body was recovered by police from Bhober Char canal at Gazaria Upazila in Munshiganj.
Munshiganj Police Super Md Zayedul Alam said, “The boy was hit by the bus. The driver and supervisor thought that he was dead, but we apprehend that he was only injured that time. They threw him into the water thinking that he was dead.”
OC Harun said, “We arrested the three after primary investigation. We are interrogating them.”
