A union parishad chairman has been killed in a road accident in Kushtia.
The incident occurred around 10:30am on Friday (Oct 25).
The deceased has been identified as Md Youshup Ali Mollah, who died around 10pm on the same day at Square Hospital in Dhaka.
Ziaraakhi union parishad secretary Md Mahiuddin Sheikh confirmed the matter to Bangla Tribune.
He said: “Youshup was riding his motorcycle to work on Friday morning, when a bus hit the motorcycle from behind on Kushtia-Jhenaidah highway at Alampur area."
Youshup hit the ground hard and was critically injured. Later, locals rescued him and took him to Kushtia General Hospital, from which he was transferred to Dhaka's Square Hospital.
Youshup was the UP chairman of Ziaraakhi union parishad under Kushtia district.
