A minor boy has died after a teen coworker pumped air into his body through the rectum in Bogura, police say.
The incident was reported from Afrin Jute Mill in Muril area of the district's Kahalu Upazila on Friday (Oct 25).
The deceased has been identified as Allal Hossain, 12, from Dhakanto area of the upazila.
Following the incident, police have arrested the perpetrator, who has identified as Joton Kuram, 17, from Karmakarpara of the district's Shajanpur Upazila, Kahalu police OC Zia Latiful Islam told Bangla Tribune.
Quoting witnesses, police said coworker Jaton pumped air into Alal's rectum using an air pump machine at around 11am leaving the later severely injured.
Injured Alal was taken to Shaheed Ziaur Rahman Medical College (SZMC) Hospital where he succumbed to his injuries around 3pm, police said.
SZMC Assistant Director (administration) Dr Abdul Wadud said the boy died of a heart attack due to pumping air into his rectum.
Details would be known after the post mortem examinations, he added.
During initial interrogation, Jaton has admitted to pumping air into the victim's rectum to make a fun, OC Zia said.
The body has been sent to the hospital morgue, the OC said adding, victim's family was processing to file a cease.
Incidents of killing people by pumping air into rectum have made headlines in the media several times.
In July and December of 2016, deaths of a minor and another teen workers occurred by pumping air into rectum were reported from Narayanganj.
In August of 2015, child labourer was killed in the same way by his employer at a vehicle repairing workshop in Khulna that created an outcry across the country.
