A college principal in Habiganj has been physically assaulted by a group of stalkers after he warned them of taking actions.
The incident was reported on Tuesday (Jul 17) Nabiganj Degree College in the district’s Nabiganj Upazila.
An arrest has been made over the attack, Nabiganj police OC Ataur Rahman told Bangla Tribune.
Sources at the college said that one Dipon Ahmed Munna harassed a female student of the college. As she complained to the principal, Principal Golam Hossain Azad called Munna and his cohorts at his office and warned them of taking actions.
As an argument erupted, they attacked that left three injured, including the principal and the female student.
College students and local residents managed to nab one of Munna’s cohorts, Humayun Kabir while fled.
Police said that the student was given first aid while the others were sent to Sylhet MAG Osmani Medical College Hospital.
The college’s students and teachers demonstrated in the town when they gave the law enforcers a 24-hour deadline to arrest the perpetrators.
“Police are trying to nab the perpetrators including prime suspect Munna,” the OC said.
