Counter-Terrorism and Transnational Crime Unit (CTTC) of Police has surrounded a building in Narayanganj, suspecting to be a militant hideout.

The building, located in Tokkar Math area in the district’s Fatullah, has been surrounded by the counter intelligence unit since early Monday (Sept 23), said Fatullah police OC Mohammad Aslam Hossain.

So far, three people have been detained after raiding the building. The detainees have been identified as Fariduddin Rumi, 27, Jamaluddin Rafiq, 23 and Jannatul Foyara Anu, 27 who is wife of Rumi.

Police are suspecting that bombs or explosive materials may present at the building.

A search operation will be conducted after the bomb disposal unit reaches the spot, said members of the counter intelligence unit.

Details over the matter will be disclosed when the operation ends.
