A man in his mid-70s has been killed after being run over by a train at Joypurhat’s Akkelpur Upazila.
The incident was reported from the upazila’s Tilakpur Railway Station area early on Saturday (Sept 14), confirmed Akkelpur acting Station Master Ruhul Amin.
The deceased has been identified as 75-year-old Jitendra, who hails from Naogaon’s Baldagachi Upazila.
“The man was run over when the Dhaka-bound Nilsagar Express from Chilahati was crossing the Tilakpur rail station,” said Amin.
He added that the family identified the deceased and took the body home.
