The motorcade of Dhaka University Central Students Union (DUCSU) Vice-President (VP) Nurul Haque Nur was allegedly attacked in his home district Patuakhali.
Several people along with Noor sustained injuries in the incident, which was reported from Ulania area of the southern district's Golachipa Upazila.
A group of miscreants attacked Noor's motorcade in the area when the DUCSU VP was on way to his sister's house at from his home at Char Biswas area of the upazila, said Md Rubel, who was also travelling along with the motorcade.
Nur, however, received treatment at the local health complex.
He "was released after giving first aid," said Dr Monirul Islam of the health complex.
Forces from local police went to the spot, said Golachipa police OC Akter Morshed adding "Nur was fine."
