A young man was stabbed to death allegedly by other drug peddlers at Sribardi of Sherpur over establishing supremacy in the area.
The deceased was identified as Tara Mia, 22, son of Ratan Mia who is a resident of South Dhandhania village in Sribardi.
Sribardi police station Officer in Charge Ruhul Amin Talukdar said that the incident occurred when followers of a local resident, Mahfuz Mia, attacked Tara and another villager Rasul Mia, 19, at about 8:00 pm on Friday (Aug 9).
Police has arrested two young men, Abu Rayhan and Al Amin, for their suspected involvement in the incident.
Resident medical officer of Mymensingh Medical College Hospital Dr Khairul Kabir Sumon said that the victim had already died before he was brought to the hospital and bore stab marks on the left side of his chest.
Rasul was being treated at the hospital for stab injures, he added.
