Rail communications between Dhaka and the northern regions of the country have been restored after nearly three following the derailment of an intercity train on the eastern corner of Bangabandhu Bridge.
Bangladesh Bridge Authority (BBA) Executive Engineer Anwar Parvez Pavel confirmed the matter to Bangla Tribune.
The train left for its destination around 5 pm.
Earlier on Friday (Aug 9), Railway communication between Dhaka and the northern districts after two wheels of a carriage of the Khulna-bound Sundarban Express derailed.
Divisional Railway Manager (Pakshi) of Bangladesh Railway Mizanur Rahman had said that a relief train from Dhaka was immediately dispatched after the derailment was reported.
However, railway engineers managed to put the derailed wheels of the train's compartment back on tracks even before the relief train reached.
Due to this incident, Dhumketu Express, Ekota Express, Nil Sagar Express, among others, were stranded at various stations.
