Two people died of mosquito-borne virus dengue while being treated at Sher-e-Bangla Medical College Hospital in Barishal.
Twenty-four-year-old Aslam Khan and 18-year-old Shohel were declared dead in the early hours of Tuesday (Jul 30), said Dr Bakir Hossain, director of the hospital.
The hospital sources said that Aslam Khan was admitted to the hospital at 9.30pm on Monday (Jul 29). He was declared dead around 3.15am on Tuesday while being treated at the hospital.
Shohel was admitted at 1.20am on Tuesday and died 3.40am at the hospital.
“Both the victims came to Barishal from Dhaka after infected of Dengue fever,” said Dr Hossain.
“So far 24 dengue infected patients admitted at the hospital since Tuesday morning, among them 15 are male and the rest are female patients,” he added.
