Chattogram slum fire kills mother, daughter

Flames erupted at the slum in Kalsi Dighi Par around 7.30pm on Tuesday (Jul 23), said Mohammad Jashim Uddin, deputy assistant director of Fire Service and Civil Defence Headquarters in the city.
“A 35-year-old woman and her seven-year-old daughter in a shanty at the slum were killed by the blaze,” he said.
It took nine fire engines around one and a half year to put out the flames, said Sukanta Chakrabarty, Officer-in-Charge of Bandar police station.
