Ayesha Siddiqa Minni, the chief witness to the killing of Shahnawaz Rifat in Barguna, has been taken to the police lines for questioning.
Minni was taken to the police lines around 9.30am on Tuesday (Jul 16), said her father Mozammel Hossain Kishore.
Barguna Superintendent of police Maruf Hossain, says: “Minni is the main witness to the crime and has been asked over for giving a statement and other questions.”
On June 26, Rifat was hacked in broad daylight in front of the Borguna Government College. His wife Minni was also there and tried to stop the attackers. Later, Rifat died at the Barishal Medical College Hospital. In this incident, Rifat’s father lodged a case against 12 persons.
