Police have recovered the bodies of a woman and her son with their throats slit from their residence in Sirajganj.
The deceased have been identified as 80-year-old Razia Khatun and her son 50-year-old retired army officer Altab Hossain Bokul.
Their bodies were recovered from Ullapara Upazila’s Durganagar union on Thursday (Jun 27).
“We are yet to find any clues but we suspect that someone entered their home in the middle of the night and slit their throats,” said Ullapara police OC Dewan Kaushik.
He added that the bodies bore signs of being stabbed in the head and several other veins were slit.
No arrests have been made while police have sent the bodies to the Sheikh Fazilatunnesa Mujib General Hospital for autopsy.
