A man was killed after 11 others including BNP Standing Committee member Khandaker Mosharraf in a road crash in Daudkandi Upazail of the district on Tuesday (Jun 19).
The casualty took place after a Dhaka-bound passenger bus of Shaymoli Paribahan hit two microbuses, part of Mosharraf’s motorcade, in Arimabad of the upazila on the Dhaka–Chittagong Highway in Comilla, leaving one dead on the spot and injuring 11 others.” Daudkandi Highway police SI Abdun Nur told Bangla Tribune.
All of the victims were in the motorcade.
The deceased was identified as Jewel Pradhan Raihan, 20, a Daudkandi unit leader of Bangladesh Chattra Dal, student wing of BNP.
Eight of the injured were sent to Dhaka Medical College Hospital while Mosharraf and two others were treated at a local hospital.
