Railway communication has resumed in Sylhet after five hours following the derailment of a local train at Habiganj.

Shaistaganj Railway Stationmaster Saiful Islam told Bangla Tribune that railway services were halted in that route on Sunday (Jun 2) as the locomotive of Sylhet-bound Kushiara Express train from Akhaura veered off the tracks after reaching Rashidpur at 10 am in the morning.

Shaistaganj Railway police in charge Shafiqul Islam Khan said that the derailed engine was recovered by a relief train after which communication resumed.
