Police in Cox’s Bazar have arrested three Rohingya people along with a firearm and ammo on their way to Myanmar.
The arrest was made from East Baruapara area of Ghumdhum near Cox’s Bazar border on Thursday (May 30) afternoon, police said.
The arrestees are Md Mir Kashem, 17, Nur Bashar, 17, and Rashid Ullah, 20. They all are from the Kutupalong refugee camp of Cox’s Bazar’s Ukhyia Upazila.
Ghumdhum police outpost in-charge Imon Kanti Barua said tipped-off, police arrested in possession of a gun and 24 round bullets when they were en route to Myanmar border.
They have confessed to smuggling the gun to Myanmar, said the police officer.
