A court in Barishal granted bail to poet Henry Swapon in a case filed under the Digital Security Act.
Chief Metropolitan Magistrate Shamim Ahmed passed the order on Thursday (May 16) after hearing a petition filed by him.
Police arrested Swapon, an eminent poet, columnist and journalist, from his home in the city’s Goal Pukur Christian community area on Tuesday (May 14) after a case was filed against him along with two others by Lakaba Li L Gomez, a priest of the local Catholic Church.
Gomez came up with an allegation against Henry for hurting religious sentiments of the Christian and Muslim Community.
