Nusrat murder: Suspect Jabed on fresh remand

Nusrat Jahan RafiPolice will interrogate one of the suspects in the murder of Feni madrasa girl Nusrat Jahan Rafi in custody for a second round.
Jabed Hossain, who was produced in court after a five-day remand, has been remanded for another three days.
The court of Feni Senior Magistrate Sharafuddin Ahmed granted police’s plea on Friday, said Special Superintendent Md Iqbal of the Police Bureau of Investigation (PBI) Chattogram chapter .
Until now, police have arrested 20 people in connection with the murder of 18-year-old student of Sonagazi Islamia Madrasa.
They are: Madrasa Principal Md Sirajaddaula, Councillor and Municipality Awami League General Secretary Maksud Alam, madrasa teacher Absar Uddin, Nusrat's classmate Ariful Islam, Nur Hossain, Kefayatullah, Md Alauddin, Shahidul Islam, Sirajaddaula's niece Umme Sultana Poppy, Jabed Hossain, Jobayer Hossain, Nuruddin, Shahadat Hossain, Md Shamim, Kamrunnahar Moni, Abdur Rahim Sharif, Hafez Abdul Kader and Sonagazi upazila Awami League President Ruhul Amin.
All the eight people accused in the case have been arrested.
Nuruddin, Shahadat Hossain Shamim, Abdur Rahim Sharif, Hafez Abdul Kader, and Umme Sultana Poppy have given their confessional statements to the court, admitting their involvement with the murder.
Alim examinee Nusrat was set ablaze on the roof of the madrasa on April 6 morning by four burqa-clad assailants after she refused to withdraw the case against Sirajuddaula.
The 18-year-old, with 80 percent burns, died at Dhaka Medical College Hospital on Apr 10 after battling death for five days.
