Nusrat a symbol of protest: Mirza Fakhrul

Describing the country is shocked over the death of Feni madrasa student Nusrat Jahan Rafi, BNP Secretary General Mirza Fakhrul Islam Alamgir has said Nusrat becomes a symbol of protest against injustice.
Eighteen-year-old Nusrat died o Wednesday (Apr 10) five days after she was set on fire by the supporters of Sonagazi madrasa principal Md Sirjaddaula on Apr 6 as she filed a case against him, accusing him of trying to rape her on Mar 27.
Speaking to reporters at his residence at Thakurgaon, Mirza Fakhrul said, “Gano Forum lawmakers did injustice to people by taking oath of their office.”
“BNP MPs-elect, however, will stand on their decision on not taking the oath,” he said.
Citing a crisis of democracy appears in the country, the senior BNP leader said his party would “overcome the crisis with the help of the people.”
Replying to query, Mirza Fakhrul said, “Either BNP or Khaleda Zia herself is yet to make any decision on her parole.
“If they reach at a decision they will let the nation know,” he said.
