A fire broke out at a textile mill in Narayanganj’s Rupganaj on Friday (Mar 29).
The fire erupted at Haji Anwar Textile Mills Ltd in the morning and soon engulfed the entire factory, said Demara Fire Service station officer Abdul Mannan.
On information, two firefighting units from Demra rushed in and doused the flames after three hours of frantic effort. Meantime, the fire burnt the factory’s machineries, readymade garments, cottons and other materials to ashes.
Fire official Mannan said, the fire origin might have originated from an electric shot circuit.
The fire caused the damage worth Tk 50 million, claimed Abdus Sattar, who owns the factory.
