Two alleged drug dealers were killed in separate shootouts with police in of the district on Monday.
The victims were identified as Enamul Haque Bhuiyan alia Dolon, 35, and Nuru Mia, 55.
The OC of Debidwar Police Station Mizanur Rahman said, “The ‘drug trader’ Dolon received bullet injuries during the ‘gunfight’ in Bhinglabari Beriadh area of Debidwar.”
He died while being taken to Cumilla Medical College Hospital, he added.
Another ‘drug trader’ Nuru Mia was killed in a gunfight with police in Galiyara of Sadar Dakshin.
He was wanted in several drug cases.
Five kilograms of cannabis and ammunition were recovered from the spot.
As many as ten alleged drug dealers were killed in ‘shootouts’ in Cumilla’s various areas since the anti-drug crackdown was launched last week.
