Unidentified assailants have gunned down a leader of United People's Democratic Front (UPDF) in Rangamati’s Baghaichhari.

Fourty-year-old Uday Bikash Chakma alias Chikkodhan Chakma was shot dead at his home in Bongol Toli union of the Upazila around 11am on Thursday (Mar 7), said police.

UPDF spokesperson Micheal Chakma, Chikkodhan Chakma, who was an organiser of the party, died “on the spot.”

“Police have visited the spot to retrieve the body,” said Baghaichhari Police OC MA Monzurul Alam.
